Good graphics, but not such a good "trailer"

I think as a trailer, this could have perhaps been more informative. Trailers should seek to inform the viewer about the characters, themes and plot contained within a story. As far as I can tell, this does not. All it really tells the viewer is that Fibble becomes cursed with Sin, and chaos ensues.

The viewer isn't shown show much about any of the other characters that you mentioned in the description "dolatry, Skitzo the 1920's killer bear, Promiscuous, Anxiety, and Suicide." I think this is a missed opportunity.

If you introduce these characters, and perhaps included more specifics about the story, then I think the trailer would be more successful. Currently it just looks more like a montage of action scenes.

Good job on the animation and drawing though, I look forward to the series.

Comick responds:

"All it really tells the viewer is that Fibble becomes cursed with Sin, and chaos ensues." <--this is probably the best way to sum up the series haha. The bigger story is in the comic book, while the episodes are more like closed short stories with no connection between episodes. Still you have a point I didn't explain the other characters and I thought about doing a slower trailer with a narrator and stuff...but it was all too much to try to cover in one minute because each one has a history. So I opted for a link at the end to visit my DA page. That way any curious people who wanted to know more could click it and get all the info the trailer left out. Oh well, I tried haha. Thanks for watching the trailer anyways! :)

Nice concept

That was a really well told story. I liked the animation style and thought that the music was pretty fitting.

I also appreciate the title, but have you considered turning it into a question, i.e "Time to Play?". I think this would make the idea more obvious: have you actually got any time to play? etc.

Something did seem a little odd with the other robots though. The colour palette and mood we're both quite cool and the music was as well to a certain extent. I was expecting some slightly darker moments. I was expecting some sort of confrontation between the two at some point.

Finally, i'm just curious, do the robots know they only have an hour to live?

krumeater responds:

Thanks,
When I first thought of the idea, I wasn't sure whether or not the robots should know how long they have to live or not. I experimented with the thought and decided it would be better if they didn't know.

Really Good

That was awesome indeed my friend (i'm a frickin huge Lady Gaga fan)

I don't think i've seen any of your other animations so I don't know if it's just a style thing, but the animation seemed pretty glitchy in places. If this was intentional then theres no need to fix it obviously. Also it didn't really detract from my enjoyment in anyway, It's just my attempt at saying something constructive.

But you wouldn't believe how much it made me smile when I realised you'd picked up on the Hitchcock references :D

Needs Work

I can only speak for myself, but I usually find dress up games, to be rather dull. This one is no exception.

The design of both the clothing and the character is adequate and the inclusion of the music was a good idea. You have the foundations to make a "good" dress up game, but it currently lacks the finesse to separate it from the large volume of similar games.

I think the game could be improved in a few ways.

If you set the clothes to automatically "snap-on" to the character, then the "dress-up" process would be less tedious and more enjoyable. Especially with fiddly accessories such as earrings.

If you could include different layering options for each item of clothing, I think that would be beneficial as well. For example, you could choose to have a t-shirt, tucked into the jeans, or just loose. You could choose to wear a necklace above the shirt, or below etc.

Furthermore, if you lay the clothes out better, then I think it would be more apparent what each item of clothing is for. You could organise them into categories such as: Shirts, trousers, skirts, upper-body accessories, lower body accessorise and so on.

Customisation of the basic character may be something to look into as well. Custom hair style and colour for example.

These are all the ideas for improvement that jump to mind immediately, I wish you best of luck in your future endeavours.

Great

Really good job, games like these are my favorites, simple but challenging gameplay with minimalist controls. Really nice job.

The sounds great, animations great, just an all around well made game.

Sorry but I can't think of any criticisms :P

Looking forward to seeing you're next project.

Good job hombre

Cool little game. The ideas pretty funky and graphics are nice. The gameplays solid as well, so you did a good job amigo.

Only real qualms I have are the animation. Whilst it doesn't ruin the game in anyway , it'd be better if the animation was done a little better. A wider variety of toreros and los trucos would be nice as well. Maybe improve on this for next time?

lunakite responds:

Thanks for the idea and the advice

This man speaks the truth!

God the whole thing is so painfully true. Good job, brought back visions of gramps sharing war stories round the campfire.

Although maybe try to speak a little clearer next time, it wasn't unclear it just seemed slightly fuzzy.
But definitely keep but on accent. Oh god if thats accents real then i've found my one true love.

bigjonny13 responds:

Hahahaha, no, that accent is not real and I'm not a grandpa.

Great Storytelling

I really like the story in this, it's something I wish I could include in my own work. It leaves a lot to the imagination, whilst giving you the fundamentals; something I think all illustration should do.

I think the amount of black surrounding the picture is slightly overwhelming. It seems to shrink the actual illustration in the middle and I think it detracts slightly from the composition.

The level of detail in the foreground is very impressive, but I think the background is missing something. It by no means need to contain as much as the foreground, but I think it currently lacks a bit of depth.

I think this a great piece overall!
